I enjoyed your class yesterday on the topic of respect. You made it clear that respect is the foundation of all relationships and that without it they cannot develop and blossom. If this is true what happens if I have lost respect for the other person? Is respect possible to regain and could it happen if only one person is trying?

Rabbi, do you know why I don't go to shul? I used to go, but I started to notice that in my shul, the rich people get more noticed and average people like me were overlooked. So I stopped going. If you need to be wealthy to be respected I want no part of it. Am I right or wrong?

Question: Israel's policy in combating terrorists is to do whatever it takes to avoid civilian casualties. Terrorists take advantage of western sensibilities embedding themselves within civilian populations using them as human shields.
